I am currently finishing the new Foundation Degree programme from the PGA.
The new programme has been developed with the University of Birmingham and has evolved to meet the needs of PGA professionals in an ever-changing golf industry. It is an all encompassing training which is the first of its kind and, therefore, those who are trained through it have the opportunity to develop a variety of skills which were not, until a few years ago, a requirement of Golf Professionals. For me, the course has been a chance to hone my teaching skills including areas ranging from physiological mental skills to physical biomechanics of the golf game. Those who I currently teach say that they have felt the benefit of these areas as intrinsic to my teaching as a means of improving their individual game. Don't worry though, the lessons are still enjoyable and easy to follow!
I have been working professionally at West Byfleet Golf Club for the last 6 years now and, during that time, I have worked hard to increase the profile of lessons within the club. To date, I have set up and run a number of groups for junior players and teach both adult and juniors on a daily basis. I have coached young members up to National level and pride myself on these successes. Having said that I also get a real joy from teaching the everyday golfer the skills to cut their handicap or to improve their long or short game, for example. I have taught numerous beginners, including those who have never stepped foot on a golf course, and I promise honesty and encouragement.
I am a friendly and approachable teacher and I aim to tailor my lessons to your requirements. If you want to know more, or are uncertain about where to begin, then don't hesitate to call me and I will be more than happy to guide you through.
